AT&T Holding Back 4G Upload Speeds

"AT&T has admitted that it clipped the wings of its 4G network and is the reason that two recently released phones, the Motorola Atrix 4G and the HTC Inspire 4G, have dismal upload speeds."

This is bad. Sometimes I think Verizon is worse, sometimes AT&T. Verizon is pretty bad about installing useless applications like VZ Navigator and City ID but then AT&T pulls an Apple and won't let you install anything from anywhere except the Android Market. Anyway, it turns out AT&T went a step further and has restricted the upstream of their 4G phones to only 300kbps!!! I think it's kind of funny because my Verizon 3G phone gets faster upstream speeds than that and standard 3G HSPA is faster than EVDO Rev. A. In other words, you should get faster upstream speeds on an AT&T 3G phone than on an AT&T 4G phone. What are your thoughts? Any ideas about how we could change any of the silly things carriers do? I mean charges for texting and tethering are crazy and pure robbery. Peasant rebellion anyone?!?!? I don't know, sometimes I just feel like I'm sending lots of money every month to an enemy.
