Is Gmail Push/Sync Not Working For You?

Posted by Jason Lee in "Android News" @ 08:30 AM

Looks like quite a few Android users are having issues with their Gmail notifications getting pushed to their phone. I first noticed my phone not getting new emails Tuesday night. I really didn't think too much of it at the time, figured I had connection issues or something. Come Wednesday I still wasn't getting any new email unless I opened Gmail and hit the refresh button so a Google searching I went. I stumbled across this thread in the Google support forums, it appeared that I was not alone in my Gmail syncing grief. Since then several other support threads have popped up with the same issue.

The problem is totally independent of carrier, device, or OS version. It appears to be something server side at Google. Many people are reporting that one of their Gmail accounts is syncing while the other is not, which agian, points to something server side that may not be effecting all of Google's mail servers.

Just so you know, Google is aware of the problem and is working on a fix. So don't pull all of your hair out trying to get it working. You are not alone in your frustration. Who else out there is experiencing this issue?
